Ma’rib Health center is launching an event regarding World AIDS Day 2021 at Ma’rib general Hospital

The Office of Public Health and Population in Ma’rib Governorate launched an event regarding World AIDS Day 2021 by setting up an AIDS prevention induction course in collaboration with the Ma’rib General Hospital and IRVD

The course organized by the National AIDS Control Programme is designed to define the services of the National Programme through clinics that provide counselling, testing, referral and treatment for infected cases, to 25 doctors and health worker from government hospital staff in Ma’rib Governorate

At the opening of the session, the Director-General of the Ma’rib General Hospital, Dr. Mohamed Al-Qabati, explained that the World AIDS Day event would last a full week in a number of government hospitals with the aim of raising community awareness of the dangers of the disease and its means of prevention by disseminating safety messages and enhancing the capacity of medical personnel to prevent the spread of the disease, especially in the exceptional circumstances of the displacement and overcrowding.

The Director of Primary Health Care of the Health Bureau, Dr. Nasser Al-Saidi, noted that awareness-raising events will include awareness-raising sessions for health cadres in health facilities to promote the diversion of suspicious cases to counselling and testing services with the support of the Organization for Migration and the Global Fund for Financing AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria with a view to protecting medical personnel and society in general 

The Coordinator of the National AIDS Control Programme, Dr. Nabil Al-Sharabi, noted that the programme had recently opened two new clinics for counselling, voluntary medical testing and early detection of AIDS at the military hospital and the unit hospital at the forts, as well as the clinics providing these services in the form of the General Hospital of Ma’rib, the Martyr Mohammad Karb Maternal Hospital and the General Hospital.
